Add Environment & Connector
Environments represent different stages of your analytics pipeline—such as development, staging, and production. Connectors are the bridges that link your Aptrics project to your data sources, including data warehouses, databases, and other analytics platforms.
This guide explains how to set up environments and configure data connectors to make your data accessible to Aptrics.
Environment Setup
Create an Environment
In your project settings, navigate to Environments and click "Add Environment". Provide a name like "Development" or "Production" and configure environment-specific settings such as data refresh schedules and performance parameters.
Configure Data Connector
Select your data source from the available connectors. Supported sources include Snowflake, Databricks, PostgreSQL, and many others. Provide connection credentials and test the connection to ensure Aptrics can access your data.
Data Discovery
Once connected, Aptrics scans your data source and identifies available tables and schemas. Review the discovered tables and select which ones should be exposed in your semantic layer.
Test and Deploy
Run diagnostic tests to verify connectivity, permissions, and data quality. Once tests pass, deploy the environment to make it live and ready for metric definitions.
